Top 10 Area Private Companies at a Glance July, 2008 — Lansing Trade Group more than doubled its revenue last year, with its total of $3.58 billion good for No. 7 on the Kansas City Business Journal's list of the Top 150 Area Private Companies. The company's ethanol trading business has improved with the increase in corn prices, which prompted more clients to use the company to buy corn and market ethanol. Lansing also has expanded into the containerized movement of grain from domestic ports to overseas customers around the globe.
